C.K. Thomas & Sons partners with artisans in India to promote and sell intricate, hand-crafted goods with an aim to preserve long-standing traditions and techniques. They wanted to replace their old logo with a new modern mark that appealed to younger audiences without losing its connection to its historical roots. I designed a mark that drew inspiration from popular design patterns found in traditional Indian materials and interwove criss-crossing lines to reference handwoven fabric, which is such a trademark of India's artisan culture.
